Today after taking a looong break, I decided to get back into fashion illustrating again. Because I’m on instagram and follow a lot of artists, I get inspired everyday and its a good source to use especially when you’re not sure what to draw next.
Here are my experiments:
I decided to just focus on watercolour paint and was inspired by David Dowton’s work for this one. I was advised by Inslee to study/check his work out. After all being/aspiring to be a fashion illustrator is all about finding your niche so that when someone looks at your work, they’ll know it’s yours.
A nice picture and some words of wisdom all in one mini post
You know that feeling when you wake up and feel you have to get things done? You do! I had it today and completed 2 illustrations
I’m still on my road to success and awesomeness as my work is getting there. My old work compared to this looks nothing alike. It just comes to show practise makes perfect!
If you have any questions, commissions or tips please leave a comment or email me. Thank you
Hey everyone, I’m sure you’ve heard of the website etsy.com. The place for selling your own creations for others to see and purchase… Everyone is on there!
I’m thinking of taking these fashion illustrations a little bit more seriously and make an etsy account. I want to be able to share my work with everyone.
They would probably consist of bookmarks, prints and cards. If anyone has any ideas or tips for a 17 year old, please let me know 🙂

My name is Harriet, I’m 17 years old and I love drawing!! (And my favourite colour is purple…)
Did I already say I love drawing? Well I do. It’s something I’ve always been doing since I was in diapers… Okay maybe not diapers but as soon as I could hold a pencil. I most say that my strengths are my trusty pencil and pen.. they are not perfect and neither am I but they help me to produce art work that I love.
You have to love your artwork in order for others to love them
So, I have a habit of going on my Instagram page every morning and I got pulled into this bigger world of fashion illustrations and artwork I have never seen before. I mean I love art but the ones I saw opened my eyes. I began to search, double tap, follow and pree many of their websites. I was stunned! I met many who gave me advice, told me to keep on practising and persuaded me to start a website.. So here I am. This would be a great way of getting my artwork out there and hopefully get noticed by some professionals out there
